14 - 19 Diplomas
The 14-19 school Diplomas are designed to create a better prepared, more knowledgeable young workforce.
Created in partnership with employers, the Diplomas combine skills development and education – strengthening maths, English and ICT competence alongside employability, thinking and vocational skills. Students also complete an extended project, specialist learning options and at least 10 days’ work experience.
- Foundation – equivalent to five GCSEs
- Higher – equivalent to seven GCSEs
- Advanced – equivalent to three and a half A levels

Employers can get involved in a number of ways, including giving talks to students, getting involved in project work, providing resources and placements for students, work shadowing for teachers and input into the curriculum.
